昼夜节律是指生命活动以约24小时为周期的内在性节律。人类生命的多种行为和生理过程都受到了昼夜节律的严格调控,如激素分泌、体温波动以及睡眠-觉醒等。昼夜节律紊乱与临床疾病如睡眠障碍、多种代谢相关疾病以及神经退行性疾病等的发生密切相关。
马定邦课题组聚焦于昼夜节律研究领域的前沿科学问题,以果蝇和小鼠为模型,结合生物信息学、分子生物学以及动物行为学等,深入研究节律神经元在单细胞水平基因表达的时空异质性;解析核心生物钟调控细胞特异钟控基因表达的分子机制及其在昼夜节律和睡眠-觉醒过程中的生理功能;探究昼夜节律紊乱与神经退行性疾病的关系等。
